I love these festive drink recipes [via Cosmopolitan] to use at your 4th celebration!
“RED WHITE & BLUE SANGRIA”
In a giant pitcher, combine 2 cups blueberries, 1 cup raspberries, and 1 pound hulled and halved strawberries. Add 1 bottle white wine and 1 cup grape juice. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Layer strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and star-shaped apple slices in glasses, then fill the glasses with the sangria. Top with sparkling wine of your choice!
“RED WHITE & BAMBOOZLED SHAKE”
Stir 4 tablespoons strawberry jelly until smooth and transfer to a small squeeze bottle or piping bag with a plain tip (hack: use a Ziploc bag with one of the corner snipped off). Swirl the strawberry jam onto the inside of your glass. Place 4 large scoops vanilla ice cream, 1 ounce Jack Daniel’s whiskey, and 4 tablespoons blueberry jam in a blender and blend until smooth. (Let the ice cream melt slightly before blending.) Fill the glass with the blended shake and garnish with whipped cream, freeze-dried blueberries, and freeze-dried strawberries.
“SPIKED SWEETS JELLO SHOTS”
1. Boil 1 cup water and dissolve 1 package of red Jell-O completely. Add 1 cup vodka (or spirit of your choice). Fill up shot glasses a third of the way with the red mixture. Let set 1 to 2 hours in refrigerator. 2. Boil 1 cup water and dissolve 1 package of unflavored gelatin completely. Add a 14-ounce can of condensed milk and stir, mixing well. Let cool a few minutes. Fill up shot glasses another third of the way on top of the red mixture. Let set 1 to 2 hours in refrigerator. 3. Boil 1 cup water and dissolve 1 package of blue Jell-O completely. Add 1 cup vodka (or spirit of your choice). Fill up shot glasses a third of the way with the red mixture. Let set 1 to 2 hours in refrigerator.
