It's hard to believe it's already October! [This might be partially due to the fact that I live in Florida where it's still 80-90 degrees & humid...] Regardless of where you live/the temperature - you can totally start mixing some of the best fall trends into your day to day wardrobe to transition into the season.

90's inspired fashion in general is huge right now, & one of the most seen accessories on the runway this season was the choker necklace. Whether it's velvet, has a charm, ties into a bow or is made of sparkley stones/metals - it's the perfect small detail to complete your outfit while also incorporating a fall trend!

Off the shoulder tops & dresses were all over the place during spring/summer & the trend isn't fading as we head into fall. A great way to update the look is by doing an off the shoulder long sleeve bodysuit or sweater dress in a jewel tone or velvet material!

The NY runway saw lots of textures; one of them being ruffles. The ruffle adds a sweet, girly touch to your outfit & is a great contrast to harsher pieces or menswear inspired items. Try it on a wrap dress, victorian top or on an over the knee sock!

Another 90's inspired trend that we saw through spring/summer - layering slip dresses overtop of a shirt...for fall, we're seeing the same trend done with turtleneck or mock neck tops to make it more seasonally appropriate! Have fun with it, mix colors/patterns/textures to create a unique look.

The "new neutrals" of fall are dusty pink tones like rose & blush + yellow jewel tones like mustard & gold. You can add pops of these colors with an accessory like a hat, scarf or pair of socks...or do a statement piece in one of these shades - such as a jacket, sweater or skirt!

Florals are no longer just for Easter - this season we're seeing lots of great fall florals on jackets, dresses, tops, shorts/skirts, etc. Jewel tones like burgundy, teal & mustard look especially on trend when done in a floral print.
